This is what it looked like after the keel was removed, as you can see the port bracket was all but gone. Amazingly I was able to remove the bolts that were left without cutting them.

 

First first picture here is the keel lock down bolt which did not function and was removed along with both keel brackets.

 

 

The trunk needed some cleaning and minor repairs in the front but overall was in good shape. I repaired the slight damage caused by the keel striking the front of the trunk and added a piece of 1/2 heavy rubber as a cushion if it is lowered to far again. The new keel brackets and pin.

Here I have cleaned the area up and test fitted the new brackets making sure they line up correctly. Finally after painting the hull I caulk them generously with 3M 5200 and wait a week for it to fully cure.
